This video displays the techniques used to excise endometriosis. Electricity is used to cut through the tissues in a fashion similar to welding. The effect is similar to that of a “hot knife cutting through butter” and a clean incision can be made around the target tissue with minimal periperal tissue damage.

Here, endometriosis from the left uterosacral ligament is being excised. There is a large tissue defect left at the end of the procedure, although this heals very rapidly. The healing effect is similar to that when you bite a hole in the side of your mouth. The defect is usually gone by the next day.
