A recent paper suggests that vaginal delivery at childbirth might be protective for the recurrence of endometriosis. What a fabulous idea. I am not sure why this should be so. It certainly avoids the problem of endometriosis invading into caesarian section scars (a rare but painful manifestation) . It might have something to do with pressure within the uterine cavity but at this stage it is all speculation. The interesting part is that my guess is that many of the people who have endometriosis have difficulties conceiving and for a variety of reasons end up having a caesarian section. Maybe they should reconsider?
